We’ll have live scoring updates, news and analysis from the Raiders’ preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams at the Coliseum on Saturday at 5 p.m.

History buffs take note as this will be the final preseason game for the Raiders at the Coliseum as they begin their farewell season in Oakland before moving to Las Vegas next season.

Neither the Raiders nor the Rams are expected to play many of their starters very much, if at all. In other words, get ready to see the battle between Nathan Peterman and Mike Glennon for the Raiders’ backup quarterback spot behind Derek Carr. For the Rams, it will be the first time ex-Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles takes the field as he’ll serve as Jared Goff’s primary backup.

For the Raiders, most eyes will be on their three first-round picks as defensive end Clelin Ferrell, running back Josh Jacobs and safety Johnathan Abram get their first taste of pro football. Also, rookie Hunter Renfrow (a 5th-round pick from Clemson) will bear watching as he battles for the slot receiver spot.

The Los Angeles Rams kick off their preseason by taking on an old crosstown rival as they hit the road to play the Oakland Raiders in Week 1 of the 2019 NFL Preseason.

Los Angeles enters the season trying to defend their NFC title as they went to the Super Bowl after winning 13 games in the second season under head coach Sean McVay. At the time of his hiring, McVay was the youngest head coach in the modern era of football and now looks to win the NFC West for the third time in a row.

Of course, he wants more than this as he and the Rams believe there was some unfinished business after falling to the Patriots. That begins Saturday as their preseason gets underway.

Oakland is looking to continue a rebuild, and are doing so while starring on the HBO series ‘Hard Knocks’. In their second era under head coach Jon Gruden, they started things off by trading away a couple of stars in exchange for a few first-round picks.

They finished 4-12 but now are bringing in plenty of young help with the addition of Josh Jacobs, Clelin Ferrell, and Johnathan Abram just to name a few.

They too look to get off to a good start, which begins with this matchup in their home stadium. Here is all the info you need to catch the game.
